With shrinking budgets, expanding needs and rising prices, arts and education administrators all across the United States face unprecedented financial challenges. That's where Pianos for Students Society comes in. Founded in 2009 with a mission to provide high quality pianos or digital pianos to schools and other arts organizations who lack the funding to purchase good instruments, Pianos for Students Society meets a vital need in the western United States.
Based in Spokane, Washington, Pianos for Students Society supplies instruments to schools, universities, operas, museums, performance venues, symphonies and other organizations that bring people into contact with live music. Like these organizations, Pianos for Students Society emphasizes the myriad of scientific studies that prove active participation in music making produces lasting benefits for the player. Students of all ages experience cognitive, emotional and even physical benefits from playing a musical instrument. Armed with that knowledge, we eagerly support organizations who seek to motivate and/or train more music makers.
Through cash donations, corporate sponsorships and the participation of a number of piano dealers across the Western United States, Pianos for Students Society has built a large inventory of loaner instruments. Thanks to generous support from our partners and our valued donors, we now loan hundreds of pianos to arts and education organizations!
Piano Sale Events
We understand that pianos deteriorate with heavy use over time. Thus, we try to cycle out our loaner instruments periodically to prevent them from taking on too much wear and tear. Once we have enough pianos scheduled to cycle out of the program, we gather those pianos together in one of our service communities and conduct a piano sale event. Local piano dealers help us clear out our loaner inventory and use the funds to procure new pianos for the program. This ensures that our beneficiaries always have access to the finest instruments available for their education and performance needs.

These events are rare opportunities to bless yourself with a gently-used instrument at a fantastic price and bless others by helping us bring high-quality instruments into programs that lack the necessary funding.
